Dr. Rama Joshi is Director of Gynae Oncology Department at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurgaon, India . Dr. Joshi completed her M.B.B.S. and M.S. ( Gynae & Obst.) from S.M.S. Medical College, Jaipur. She was awarded six gold medals, including Pfizer gold medal post graduate award, and also Bhamashah Award for academic excellence.
Dr Joshi is dedicated Gynae Oncologist, a Gynae Onco Surgeon since 1995 and has rich experience of performing all radical surgeries for Gynaecological Cancers for last 21 Years. She was Fellow Gynae Oncology at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai and a UICC Fellow at Buffalo, NY USA . She has also been trained at the Comprehensive Cancer Centre , University of Michigan, USA and Lyon, France. Dr. Joshi has presented her research and has been invited faculty at various national and international conferences and published papers. She has organized many national & international Gynaecological Cancer Conferences.
Dr. Joshi has been Member Steering Committe, Indian Comprehensive Cancer Network (ICCN) on management of cervical cancer and national expert on ‘Standard Treatment Guidelines’ for Gynaecological Cancers proposed by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. Of India & Members Steering committee on ovarian cancer management guidelines ICMR.
She is Hon. Secretary General, Association of Gynaecologic oncologists of India and also Member, International Gynecological Cancer society.
Clinical focus
Dr. Joshi focuses on surgical management of all gynecological cancers including radical surgeries for cancer Cervix, Endometrium, Ovarian, Vaginal and Vulvar cancers. Minimal Access Laparoscopic surgeries in selected endometrial cancer, cervical cancer & ovarian masses. Her areas of expertise also include management of women with Recurrent & Suspicious Gynecological Malignancies and pre-malignant gynecological diseases. Dr. Joshi is also involved in clinical research and cancer awareness and early detection programs.
