Dr. Kapil Kumar

Dr. Kapil Kumar is one of the internationally renowned and most respected Surgical Oncologists in the

country. After working at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre as a Senior Consultant in

Surgical Oncology for over fifteen years, Dr. Kapil had joined BLK Super Speciality Hospital as Director

BLK Cancer Centre and HOD – Surgical Oncology. He brings with him his vast experience in handling the

most complex cases in Surgical Oncology in the country. Patients travel from far off destinations across

country to seek Dr. Kapil’s expertise in Surgical Oncology.

After completing his surgical training in 1982, Dr. Kapil specialized in Surgical Oncology from Tata

Memorial Hospital, Mumbai; at a time when ‘Surgical Oncology’ was still in its infancy in India. Initially,

Dr. Kapil started his career as a Surgical Oncologist at Batra Hospital and Dharamshila Cancer Hospital

till the year 1999, and later on joined Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre as a Senior

Consultant. Dr. Kapil is a man whose profound focus is devoted to medical excellence, research and

finding cure for cancer.

Dr. Kapil’s other team members include: Dr. Sandeep Mehta, Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pande, Dr. Ashish Goel

and Dr. Tapaswini Pradhan. Dr. Mehta, a Senior Reconstructive Surgeon was associated with Rajiv

Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre for 18 years, specializing in Onco-Reconstruction pertaining

to all types of Cancers, Microlaryngeal Laser Surgery and Transoral Robotic Surgery Reconstructions.

Dr. Pande has vast experience in Cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC in Peritoneal Surface Malignancies

(Pseudomyxoma Peritonei, Colorectal, Mesothelioma, Ovarian and primary Peritoneal Cancer, Stomach

Cancer), helping to improve outcome in stage IV Cancers confined to peritoneal cavity, Gastrointestinal

Cancer Surgery and Colorectal Surgery. Dr. Goel has 15 years of vast experience in Surgical Oncology

with interest in Breast, Thoracic, Head, Neck, GI Oncology and Robotic Surgery. Dr. Pradhan has 10

years of experience in Head and Neck Oncology with specialization in Transoral Laser, Microlaryngeal

and Robotic Surgery.
